Spotify stops playing songs after unlocking screensaver

My Question or Issue

 After starting to listen to music on Spotify, I'll let my phone enter screen locked mode. Whenever unlocking my phone to read a text, or do anything else on my phone, the music stops playing as soon as the screen is unlocked. Haven't had that problem previously until today. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Spotify app but the problem remains.
