Spotify unmounts my sd card

Spotify unmounts my sd card

Spotify unmounts my SD card when I download music offline. It detects it again after I pull it out and put it back in and a restart but it also doesn't find the files on the sd card, making me redownload my playlist and delete the files already there. I know this is caused by spotify, as it started as soon as I downloaded spotify. I eventually delete spotify from my phone as a result of this problem and the problem went away. I've since redownloaded spotify in hopes they've fixed it, but the problem reappeared as soon as I redownloaded spotify again. As I mainly listen offline due to data limits, this problem makes spotify useless, as wanting to listen to music only to find that you have to redownload all of your playlist before you can means you can't listen to any music. Any solutions would be appreciated.

I doubt that a music app is capable of unmounting an SD card as it doesn't have the necessary permission to do so. If you have the spotify cache set to SD card, problems will show up sooner as spotify is constantly accessing the card while you listen to music.

Are you able to try a different SD card in case the one you are using is faulty?

I've swapped sd cards on 2 different occasions to make sure it wasn't a faulty card. I had the same problem with both of the other cards.

Could u try the following next time I happens please. Check on Settings/Storage. Do u still see the card under Portable Storage. Also is there data on it from other Apps (photos, videos)? If so can you view a photo, for example. Let me know those things to start off, ta.

Yes my phone detects the sd card, it just says there's no data until I remount it. Yes there is other data on it besides spotify. (I'm pretty sure the other data isn't the cause of the problem. When I didn't have spotify the same data was still there and I didn't have any problems until I got spotify again.) After I remount it spotify also doesn't detect the spotify files on the card, despite them being there. I have to delete the spotify files before I redownload the playlist otherwise I'd have the same data twice.

Could u try saving a photo to it please. Then when the trouble occurs see if you can still see the photo. Make sure you aren't looking at a save version from Google photo or Dropbox. The reason is I want to see if the card becomes unusable overall or just unusable to Spotify.

When the problem occurs I can't view any data on the card, photos included. The card is unusable overall until I pull it out and put it back in.

If it wasn't your third card I'd have said the card but unlikely 3 times I'd agree. Sorry I can't suggest more...
