Spotify using acceleration sensor

Solved!

Spotify using acceleration sensor

Hi!

My question is why is Spotify using acceleration sensor if it doesn't have the "Running" feature anymore?

Spotify version: 8.4.62.472

Thanks!

Hey @AeroZ.

Thanks for bearing with us. We spoke to the tech team and can confirm everything is working as expected. Although we retired the Running feature, the accelerometer is still used for other parts of the app. We hope this clears things up!

Hey @AeroZ, welcome to the Community!

That's odd. Can you let us know what device and operating system you're using? Also, did you notice this only with that version of Spotify, or with previous versions as well?

If you haven't already tried, give a clean reinstall a try to see if it helps.

Let us know how it goes.

Double post

I tried older Spotify versions dating back to March but the problem remains.

Using OnePlus 5T, Oreo 8.1

Hi. Any update on this? The issue is still not resolved even in the lastest beta builds.
