Spotify wont start from background in offline mode.

My Question or Issue

For some reason Spotify can't be woken up from notification list in offline mode when it's closed down, it works just fine if i go online but not in offline mode for some inexplicable reason. I have to be in the app for the music to play when i'm using it in offline mode meaning i can't clear all recent apps because then it shuts off the music. Since i'm using spotify on offline mode alot this is really damn annoying because it makes it so i can't even start the music from my car. I've already tried all the usual things Reboot/clear cache/reinstall/clear data/clear phone cache etc.

No one who knows how to fix this?

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.

We can recommend that you check the phone's battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option.

It's also a good idea to check that Spotify has the permissions to run in the background. These settings could be hindering the performance of the app on your device. 

If that's not causing the issue, could you let us your Spotify version and, if possible, if you experience this on other mobile devices?

I have tried all that and it does nothing, if i go online it will work properly in the background, can start the music from sleep etc but as sson as i go offline i cant play any music without the app being opened

I am on the latest version 8.8. 14.575

I should also add i've reinstalled the app, cleared the cache before reinstalling it, cleared data, all settings are set to allow spotify to run without anything hindering it.

The behavior you mention can happen due to a number of factors such as the OS, factory settings and limitations from certain devices and with that we cannot provide with a fix for this now. However, we can see how that would be a handy feature and we appreciate you taking the time to share this with us. Rest assured, we'll pass it onto the right teams at Spotify, as we always strive to improve the Spotify experience.

Hopefully you'll see if it gets improved but we can't guarantee when or if this will be taken into consideration.

But it has worked before, this behaviour started just a few weeks ago... Blaming the os when i have had it working properly on this current os version is just BS...

I'm also on galaxy s21 ultra with the latest version of both android and spotify.
