Stops playing on chromecast when I leave the home

My Question or Issue

When I leave the home spotify stops playing on chromecast and starts playing on my phone in my pocket. 

This started a few days ago and have never been an issue before. And pretty annoying for all parties. Those listening at home and suddenly have to deal with a phone playing music.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

In this case, we'd suggest going to your Account Overview page and Sign out everywhere. Additionally, remove access to all the apps you've connected to your account from here. You can easily reconnect your apps anytime. Once done, log back in and check if that makes a difference.

On another note, try resetting your Chromecast by following the steps here.
