Stuck in Offline Mode since installing updated Android app.

Stuck in Offline Mode since installing updated Android app.

Hello, the Spotify premium app was working great on my Galaxy S5 until I installed the recommended update this morning. I did allow it to remove the previous version. Since doing this I am stuck in online mode regardless of what I try. I have tried 4G (full signal) and WiFi, I have tried removing and re-installing the app, I have tried the clear cache options, several reboots of the phone. No matter what I try I cannot get the app to do anything as it just reports that it is in offline mode. Please let me know what I can do to resolve this as I am new subscriber and this has made the app completely unusable.

Similar problems here - if I logout, reboot the phone , and log back in I generally can use it for a while, but if I switch from mobile to WiFi, or vice versa... out of luck again.  paying for a service that requires these hoops... there are other music services out there -  surely one of then has a fully functional app....

Hi both, welcome to the community.

Have you done a clean reinstallation of Spotify yet?

I have the same problem motorola droid maxx android 5.0.1

I've also been having this problem for the last 3 or 4 days. The app is stuck on offline mode even though I have plenty of signal or even wi-fi. I'm running Android 4.4.2 on an LG Volt.

I have the same problem with my newly updated S5. All worked fine until yesterday. I'm a premium user as well and I'm really angry. I already tried many clean reinstallations and it won't help. Since I'm mainly using spotify on my denon receiver at home and on my phone it's really important for me.

It changes every 2 seconds from you're offline to the normal screen. I can't download anything and I can't stream either.

PLEASE HELP

Try using an older apk (you can find a link in my signature). Install an older version and hopefully it'll be sorted in the next update.

Great stuff, glad you're sorted. Just remember to disable automatic updates in the Google Play Store else you'll find the Spotify app will get automatically updated to the current version.
