My Question or Issue

After the two most recent updates, I'm not able to play any offline media. I live where there is no connectivity of any kind such as cellular data or WiFi, It's completely dark where I live. Before the two most recent updates, I could play "liked songs" or when the podcasts tab was on top, I could tap it and find downloaded podcasts and play both without any issues whatsoever. Now, when I press "liked songs" or the new "your episodes" I get a spinning green circle which won't load no matter how long I wait. and I ensure I'm in "offline mode". I close and re-open the app, after I do that, I can finally see my liked songs and downloaded podcasts with the green download checkmark checked - But the play button is greyed out, pressing shuffle doesn't do anything making it impossible to play anything offline no matter what I do. I can plainly tell that offline play is impossible after these two most recent updates.

Hey @CussingBee

Thanks for posting - we’re here to help!

First thing to try here is performing a clean reinstall of Spotify on your mobile device. This will remove corrupted data from previous installations that could be causing the issue.

In case this persists, make sure no power saving settings or data cleaning apps run active on your mobile device. Such features can often prevent the app from operating at full capacity. We also suggest accessing the app settings and making sure all Permissions are enabled for Spotify.

Tip: Make sure you go online at least once every 30 days to keep your downloads. This is so Spotify can collect play data to compensate artists.

Keep us posted! We'll be happy to lend a hand if you need more help.
