Unable to listen to music while in call after recent update in May

My Question or Issue

The recent update of spotify (maybe 3-5 days ago) ruined the ability to play music while in a call. The sole reason why I purchased spotify was the ability to listen to music while in a call, and this stopped working after the update. Other users have tested this and have experienced the same issue.

Steps to replicate issue: Be in a call > Open spotify app > Press play on any music > Music gets paused

Of course, I discussed this with spotify customer support, but all the response was that they reported it and that I should end the call to listen to music…. I’m not sure if they really reported the issue or not, but would like to know if others have reported this issue and the workaround to this.

I have the same problem, only Samsungs do this from what i can tell. It's driving me nuts.

1. ME NEITHER!!! I got scared thinking it was a me problem but looks like it's just some stupid update spotify decided to release.
