Unable to play local files on mobile

I wanted to add new songs I downloaded into Spotify. While it can be played on the desktop app, I am unable to open nor download into my phone.

I tried re-downloading rhe playlists that contains both existing and the new local files songs, but it didn't work

I tried deleting data on my mobile app, as a result, ALL my local files couldn't work anymore. Be it the new ones or the existing ones.

I also tried to uninstall both the desktop and mobile app, it didn't work either.

When I created a new playlist for such local files, it states "Waiting to download" but nothing happens.

The local files greyed out and I'm unable to do anything with such files in my mobile app. (They are in mp3 format)

Someone please help...

Do you have a premium account? If not, it seems that the ability to add local (personal) music files has been removed from the free, ad-supported service on mobile.
