Unable to use Bluetooth controls

I'm not sure what changed but my Spotify no longer works with most Bluetooth controls. I am unable to pause/play music with my jaybird x2 or my Asus zenwatch 3. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm experiencing the same problem. My Bluetooth headset and my car neither of the controls for changing tracks or pausing are working. And it's only Spotify. Other music apps work fine.
