Weird pop-up during podcasts

I like to use Spotify for the JRE podcast, and recently there was a change of some sort that added a weird UI that says "About the podcast" below the video, I can't find how to remove it, the customer support couldn't figure it out for me either. I can only scroll up and it shows below the channel icon with a Follow / Unfollow button.

It only occurs on my tablet, not on my laptop.

I have premium and i still have a banner on my tablet during podcasts with about this podcast of Q&A and i cant remove it, what the **bleep** spotify??????

edit: i need to download a podcast episode and turn off the internet on my tablet to be able to watch any podcast video without a banner on screen? this is unacceptable spotify!

I have premium and i still have a banner on my tablet during podcasts with about this podcast or Q&A and i cant remove it.

I need to download a podcast episode and turn off the internet on my tablet to be able to watch any podcast video without a banner on screen? this is unacceptable spotify!

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

 

In order to look into this further with the relevant team, and in case you haven't sent it yet; let us know the following info:

 

- Is it happening with all the podcasts you've tried?

- Your device info (make/model) and OS version

- Exact Spotify version

 

Also, and if possible; could any of you record a short video where we can take a better look at the options displayed in the 3-dot menu of the banner? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

We'll be on the lookout.

yes it happens to every single podcast on spotify

spotify version: 8.9.32.624

 

uploading a video wont be possible, i will upload screencaptures of what is requested. also there is no 3 dot menu on the majority of podcasts, it even varies per episode(see the last uploaded image for a banner without the dots). shown second is  the options i get when the 3 dots do show and i tap on the 3 dots. 

 

PS: please make it possible to delete attachements after you attach them in your message here, if you make an error you need to do everything again right now.....

Thanks for your reply and for all the info shared.

 

We'd like you to try, if you haven't yet, a clean reinstall of the app on your device to see if you notice any difference. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can find out the steps to do it here.

 

If after that, you continue noticing this behavior, it'd be awesome if you could try to replicate this behavior on a different device, such as your mobile device. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

 

Lastly, just to confirm, did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event, such as an OS update? If yes, please send us the details.

i did just reinstall and it made no difference, its been happening since i got this tablet 2 months ago. i cannot replicate it on any other mobile device, however, i have 3 more lenovo tab M9 in my house and all 4 devices have the same problem, so i suspect its something in the coding that has a conflict with the device(one of the devices i tested on was fresh out the box still in factory settings) i hope this information can help you solve this issue for me(and all other lenovo tab m9 users)
