My Question or Issue

I like to browse through the latest episodes of all my subscribed podcasts (by going to "your library" then "podcasts" and then scrolling through "episodes") every few days to see what's new and add the ones I'm interested in to my playlist. Every time I go to read the full blurb of an episode and then return back to the list, it automatically brings me to the top (aka "today" / the most recently released episodes) rather than keeping me however far down the list I was. It's super frustrating when I haven't checked for a few days and have a ton of podcasts to scroll through and have to keep re-finding my position after viewing an episode. It used to remember where I was rather than bringing me all the way back to the top.

I'm using Spotify on Android and am listening to a podcast that has over 500 episodes from 2018 to now.

I'm listening all the episodes and am now roughly in the middle.

It used to be that when I went to this specific podcast's feed, that Spotify would automatically 'scroll' down to where that 200th, 40th episode is in the feed. That way I wouldn't have to scroll down and look for the right episode each time.

Why has this changed? Now Spotify opens the feed to the first episode and I have to scroll down each time through hundreds of episodes.

This also happens when I'm in the middle of the episode.

Hi,

Thanks for letting me know.

Is there a reason the behaviour has changed and now the automatic scroll has been removed?

Are there plans to change this back in the future?

Thanks.

Hey @Bollekesamsonne

Thanks for your reply.

We're afraid we don't have any additional info to share at the moment, but we'll pass your feedback on to the right team.

For now, we'd recommend keeping the app up to date so you don't miss out on any improvement in the future.
