I am trying to be optimistic and polite but the way we Android users are treated, my patience has worn off. What really did the developers think when they decided to release the Radio for ios apps but not Android users? They really should have thought that the Android users would be angry if they were paying the SAME amount but not getting a feature that they will offer for other customers.
Apperantly they couldn't care less at the end and decided not releasing the Radio for Android users could pass unnoticed. I was a new Android Spotify user and now I'm planning to cancel my subscription. Moreoever I'm planning to start a campaign for other fellow Android users to do the same. Although not a super sized library, anyone can switch to Slacker Radio and Spotify should know that users have alternatives. We WANT radio feature on Android. I don't care if you polished the UI recently, I care what features I am getting for the money I paid.
I don't understand why Spotify doesn't realize that the Android platform is vastly superior to iOS. Why do you guys leave us out in the dust?
Please port over the iPad application to android and give us radio..
Hey folks.
Spotify has made enormous strides with the Android Platform. The new beta for Spotify for Android made some tremendous changes. Also, Spotify's developers will obviously focus more on iOS due to the demand for the app and updates. Also, you think the Android folks have it bad? Think of the Windows Phone users, like myself. They have it worse than the Android users.
Spotify tries to please everyone on all platforms as quickly as possible. The devs have to sleep and eat you know 😉
Cheers. -Grayson
EDIT:
The Radio function on Spotify for iOS is just a few days old, so there's no need to feel left out. Every platform will eventually roll out the radio feature 🙂
It's just so funny if you think there are bunch of developers who are working day to night to make everyone happy. We are talking about a mult-million dollar business and hundreds of developers. If the current number of developers is not enough to carry out a consistent quality standard among all platforms, it's Spotify's responsibility to hire new ones who can.
As long as I am not charged less for my Android subscription, I will not go through the emotion pathway and feel sorry for anyone. I'm not asking for a favor, I'm asking for money's worth. If they are this sensitive then they should compensate this for Android users.
Personally, I don't think Spotify owes any particular platform any compensation. It they felt they needed to compensate android users (for whatever ungodly reason) they would have to compensate every single other Mobile platform Spotify operates on. It is frustrating, but unfortunately, demanding it isn't going to get it here any quicker.
Cheers.
Hey Guys!
You'll be very pleased to hear Spotify is bringing Radio to Android in the coming weeks as stated by Rorey, the Community Manager, round' these parts 🙂
Here's where Rorey said it:
Adios!
Shadow shooter, what is wrong with you? You're ranting and whining like a toddler who just got told he's not allowed to have ice cream.
You paid for this service *before* they rolled out the Radio feature for iOS. Acting as though you're somehow being screwed out of money, claiming that you should have to pay LESS because your chosen mobile operating system didn't recieve a NEW FEATURE as quickly as another mobile operating system is asinine. You're not paying for the Spotify Mobile App. You're paying for Spotify Premium, which ALLOWS YOU TO USE the mobile app, IF YOU CHOOSE. Not everyone who purchases Spotify Premium uses the mobile app. For example, I purchased it to get rid of ads in the software and for higher quality streaming.
You will get the Radio feature when the developers have finished developing it for your operating system. Until then, learn to control your emotions and stop having a temper tantrum and belitting people who are working hard to provide spoiled brats like you with their software that you chose to purchase before Radio was a feature on any mobile OS.
oh and furthermore, to even jokingly suggest that slacker radio is a reasonable replacement for Spotify is ridiculous.
