My Question or Issue

Why is the new Spotify design not yet available on Android and why can't you add a picture to playlists. On iOS, the new design has been available since February 2020 and you can also change the image of your own playlists on iOS. Therefore, I wonder why iOS is always preferred, although there are more Android users.

Hi there @MusicIsNice123,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

There is currently no official information about a new design for the Android app.

Our developers are always trying to improve the app across multiple platforms, which happens through regular updates.

We'd recommend enabling automatic updates on your device, this way you'll always get the newest version 🙂

Don't hesitate to reach out again if you have questions.

Hey @MusicIsNice123,

Thanks for getting back to us.

As @Alex mentioned, we're always trying to improve the app and testing different things out. So  it's possible that one user might see something on the app another doesn’t, or get a brand-new feature for only a temporary period. Click here to learn more about Spotify tests.

Note that which account take part in certain tests is determined at the server level and can't be manually influenced.  We do recommend that you always keep your app up to date with the latest version. That way you'll make use of all improvements and fixes, as soon as they are released.

Hope this info is useful. Let us know if there's anything else we can help with.

I have one more question. For the desktop client there is now a new UI that is similar to the web version. Can you download it somewhere, or do you have to wait forever for it like for other things. A friend of mine got it, but I did not. I would like to test this new version. Thanks in advance

Regarding the new Spotify UI for mobile. You said it's not confirmed, so why is it pictured in the screenshots in the Google Playstore?
