moto X touchless control issue

Hey so Spotify is supposed to work with the Moto X's touchless control, which allows you to play music using either spotify or google play music.  Right now only Google play music works!  When I set Spotify as the default player, the voice command only opens spotify and searches for the artist/song - it does not actually play any music.  

Someone on another forum said that this issue began after the newest update.  I prefer Spotify but will prolly switch to Google's streaming service if y'all don't fix this issue.
