old device is connecting to my account automatically

the device in question is a Google home mini several states away at my childhood home, whenever my family plays music on that speaker it connects to my Spotify account and plays their music choice from my phone. is there a way to disconnect my account from that speaker?

You should ask for a password reset. That should make all devices ask for the new password to continue playing.
