I have lost the spotify appy button thing

You mean you can't see the Spotify app icon in your app drawer? What if you search the play store for Spotify and then select it, does it give you the option to uninstall or open?

If uninstall then that's very odd. I'd suggest you do uninstall then reinstall and you should have the icon back.

If it didn't say either of those then it must say 'install' and that must mean the app is no longer installed in your device. Install it and log in
