the mobile Spotify app automatically loads itself AND starts playing -- e

Spotify app on my android phone starts playing music anytime bluetooth is opened even over other apps. There doesn't seem to be a way to stop it. Can I stop it from running in the background when I have not opened the app? Or do I have to delete it?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. On what device exactly is this happening? Have a look through the device settings and look for the option to automatically open certain apps when bluetooth/a headset is connected. If your phone is Samsung, check for Bixby routines too.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your response. My devices are both Samsung Galaxy S10+. I have never activated Bixby but I did go through settings and found nothing. Also have already gone through all settings and found no issues that stood out. Sadly, as much as I enjoyed Spotify, it's not worth the trouble. After it turning itself on over another app (Roku) last night, I gave up and deleted the app. Both Amazon music and Pandora do not have the issue. It was fun while it lasted. Thanks again.
