Car thing Dial press defective. Spotify asks for return shipping charge.

I just received Car thing this afternoon. The Dial press button is defective. It doesn't do anything when i press on it. Spotify wants me to pay the return shipping for another replacement unit. I was very excited and waited for a week before I received the defective car thing.  Now ? I am very mad about how they handle the defective problem. Why the customers need to pay for the defective product return shipping? I don't need refund. I just need a working unit without paying extra. It is not my fault.
