My Question or Issue: I would like to use Spotify in my car but am unsure how to connect. Spotify just sent me an email that it can be done but it wasn't detailed enough. Is there a link or can someone provide a detailed answer on how this can be done? Thanks!

Hey @bromberg,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome 🙂

No worries, rest assured we'll help you clarify this. So, it's possible to listen to music in your car by using Spotify. Basically, you'll need to connect your phone to your car. You can do it with one of these methods:

  • Spotify Connect
  • Bluetooth
  • AUX or USB cable
  • Android Auto
  • Apple CarPlay

This depends on the audio device/stereo installed on your car and the mobile phone you have. You can read more about it in this article. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

We hope you found this helpful. Let us know if you need anything else.

Cheers!

After I connect my phone to my car with a USB cable, then what?

Do I need Spotify software on the phone to proceed?

Hey @bromberg,

Thanks for your reply 🙂

To answer your question, yes, you must download the Spotify app on your mobile phone first. Once you've done that, you have to turn on your car stereo, then set the input to the USB or AUX setting, and open Spotify on your phone. When you play a song through the app, it should come through your car speakers.

You can read more about it in this other article, so you can clarify how it works.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need a hand with anything else, we're always a post away.
