Hey folks and welcome to... spring! 🍃🍃🎉

As you will all soon be able to tell this is one of my most favorite times of the year and I'm so very excited it's here! It's no longer depressingly cold, you can hear birds singing and all plants start coming to life. The city where I live is filled with a ton of what I think are cherry trees and they have these many tiny white blossoms that just happen to smell so heavenly sweet esp. with the much warmer weather outside.  A delight to the senses that can only be matched by the sweet smell of summer linden and/ or, of course, the sound of this month's edition of the IOH blog! So, without further ado, let me present you with the first track, provided by @Joan  😄

"I've been feeling folky and rather Celtic this month. The biggest was the recent concert of one of my favourite bands ever Eluveitie! That was a dream come true over 15 years in the making and it prompted a grand album binge too. The most Swiss band to ever exist, the way these lads and ladies mix soaring folk melodies with pumping melodeath/metalcore riffage never ceases to amaze me!"

"On another note, Scottish one man powerhouse Saor has been blessing my ears too, with an exquisite folk black metal mix that is dark and atmospheric and yet intensely beautiful and uplifting. I don't need to take a DNA test to know that I'm 0% Scottish, but when those bagpipes hit, I become ten billion percent Scottish! Just makes you want to grab a claymore and go full FREEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOM!"

Such fine tunes! Thanks, @Joan, great stuff every time 😁
To switch things up, here's the next submission by @Xenia who has been binge watching and is just about to finish the entire "The Expanse" series. She says the soundtrack is reverberating in her head at all times and after hearing it I can agree that it's a complete masterpiece!

spotify:track:7FrCiWJbNiSbDNih6IzyAA

Thanks, @Xenia! Reminds me so much of those absolutely epic World of Warcraft theme songs... So very pleasant!
And, continuing the fine taste train, next up on today's list we have two submissions from @Dessi & @Ivelina!

Dessi:

This month has been all over the place music-wise, enjoy 😁😁

spotify:track:2lTm559tuIvatlT1u0JYG2

Only knew him by name up until he released his latest album and I decided to give it a go and was pleasantly surprised of how much I liked it!

spotify:track:6OC87jHRiovNPEUrgaqFSu

Can't skip on Gaga's new album as well, the two singles she pre-released had me thinking it's gonna be like in the good old days, but it turned out to be really groovy instead and I'm here for it!

spotify:track:4QgufEgDhiXzYaj34pAaSc

The weather was pretty gloomy for the majority of the month, so I spent quite some time listening to some chill music and you can't skip on Moloko in such times!

spotify:track:5QO3UJc1gF1ummP75n2b3R

Found this through an Insta reel and decided to check out the band, listened to their whole discography in a couple of days and even got concert tickets to go and see them live, if you're into psychedelic rock and Balkan music, check them out 😄

^ And last but not least - to stick to the Balkan theme - my fav diva released a new album and it's pretty amazing 🎉🎉

Thanks, @Dessi, so much great stuff! To top things off, check out what @Ivelina has had in store for us:

A classic old one for the upcoming spring days 😄

And a twist in a completely different direction 😅

Thanks, Ive! Contrast is an essential part of a healthy living 😁
And, speaking of contrast, let me also introduce you to what @Yordan's had in mind this month ⤵️

"I recently discovered two local bands (thanks to @Joan) whose music kept my ears occupied the past month. From the very first riff I was immediately hooked and I knew I had to add them in my physical collection as well. I even met with some of the members from both bands in person, we chatted a little and about music, inspirations and upcoming shows, and overall had an awesome time!"

Thanks, Dancho! Those were surely something else 😄
With this in mind, however, so are the next submissions on the list by @Nikola!

"This month one of the members of our Spotify Stars program@Luan introduced me to an amazing band from Brazil. Baiana System simply blew my mind with their eclectic rhythms, solid grooves and music that you just can’t help but dance to! Enjoy!"

Thank you @Nikola & @Luan! Such a fine way to wrap things up!

Before we go, I wish to leave you with some old gems I recently re-discovered! No clue how I managed to even get my hands on them but apparently I have because they are now sitting comfortably in my Liked playlist 😄

The first one is "Scatman" by Scatman John, followed by Modern Talking's "Cheri Cheri Lady" (I thought it was "Cherry" for so long but oh well) and last but definitely not least, "What's the difference" by Dr. Dre, Eminem & Xzibit! Enjoy!

That's all for this time, folks! Many thanks to everyone who managed to join in!
Have a good one & until next time! 🎉
