Offline Backup, to keep the music playing

MateusM

Music has a way of making every moment better, whether I'm on a walk, commuting, or just relaxing. Spotify always seems to get my mood right, almost like a personal soundtrack to my day. However, we've all been there – you're ready to play your favorite songs, and suddenly there’s no signal and you forgot to download your playlist. That's where Offline Backup comes in. Available to Premium users globally, Offline Backup lets you enjoy your music offline, no downloads required. So no matter where you are, your music is always ready.

Offline BackupOffline Backup
For those moments when you’re offline but still need your music to keep playing.

How it works

When your iOS or Android phone loses connection, the Offline Backup feature has your back - and it does that without consuming any additional data or storage! It automatically creates a playlist just for you, based on the tracks you’ve recently streamed or queued up – so it's always ready to go.

Scroll up to filter and sort the playlist by artist, mood, or genre, making it super easy to find what you want to hear. Plus, it evolves as you keep listening, so there's always something fresh. If you’re driving, you can also find it in Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Whenever you're offline, you'll find the Offline Backup playlist right on your Home feed. Just make sure to keep listening to music on Spotify and have 'Offline Listening' enabled. You can easily do this by heading to Settings, then Playback, and looking for the 'Offline Access (Android) Offline Listening (iOS) toggle’. And if you want quick access, just search for and add the Offline Backup playlist to Your Library.

If you’re not seeing it, make sure your Spotify app is updated to the latest version.
