Steps by Stars: How to make an amazing party with Spotify

Luan

Hey, folks!

It's been a while since our last article, I know you were missing it... Ok, no more wait, we're back, and this time to talk about how to make a fantastic party with our friends, using Spotify Connect, Spotify Group Session, and Spotify Remote Group Session.

Step 1: Spotify Connect

I don't know about you, but I'm not a huge fan of Bluetooth speakers because it's not cool when my friends and I are having a blast with a song, and then my phone rings because of a notification or a call... Thankfully Spotify has a feature called Spotify Connect that allows me to connect to supported speakers or devices via WiFi, instead of Bluetooth and this prevents my song from stopping when my mom calls me to ask if I took my coat.  To use Spotify Connect is very simple. My folks from the Customer Support team already made a great job on a very instructive support article, and I'll just link it here. Check it out.

Step 2: Spotify Group Session

Ok, we already have our song playing without glitches because of the Bluetooth connection, but there is also something else... At a party with our friends, everyone wants to be the DJ. That's comprehensive, after all, I'm not Alok. The case is that they always ask me to play this or that song... So, nothing is better than putting everyone in control of our queue, right? For this, we have another great feature: Spotify Group Session. This one allows us to invite our friends to control the queue and make the party even more exciting. And the best part of it, in my opinion, is that everyone can join it, even if they are not at the party, with the Remote Group Session. It's very simple to create a group session... If the friends are already on the same WiFi network, they can join without an invitation, but if they aren't, you can send them a QR Code or a link to allow them to join the band. To invite your friends wherever they are, the Remote Group Session follows the same flow...

Now, I think our party is ready. It's time to call our friends and make everyone dance. Don't forget to not drive if you're drinking, okay? 🤙

And as a bonus tip, the Remote Group Session can also be used to listen to the Blend playlist - you created with that friend from the other side of the globe, so the options are endless...

That's all for today, folks! I hope my suggestions were useful to you. And if you are planning a party with your friends, lemme know what will be the playlist (don't leave me talking alone here, okay?) and don't forget to leave your like 🙂

Last, but not least, If you need help, a Spotify Star is, here in the community, ready to lend you a hand.
