Can Spotify add:
Vanity Six - Nasty Girl
Apollonia Six - **bleep** Shooter
Hi there @pietergerritse!
Spotify would love to have all the world’s music available to everyone. However, some artists and tracks aren't currently available.
I'd recommend reading this article for more info.
Hope this helps, have a nice day! 🙂
"However, some artists and tracks aren't currently available."
Obviously, and that is why I ask, hoping to urge spotify to get these specific songs.
The availability of music on Spotify is mainly up to the Record Label or the artist.
You should try contacting the Record Label, and ask them why that Album/Song isn't on Spotify.
Ofcourse not. Record-labels do not post music on Spotify. Spotify takes action and asks and pays record labels to get music available. And they do that quite good as a lot of music is available. I want to help them doing it even better, by asking for these specific missing songs.
Artists can approach Spotify that they want their music on Spotify, but Spotify won't usually do that.
Well, do you think Bach approached Spotify? Or Elvis Presley?
Ofcourse not. Spotify has an active role on getting music available.
The record label or the company/person responsible for the rights of Elvis Presley and Bach songs probably approached Spotify. And yes they do have a department that handles Spotify for Artists applications and requests. Both big, small and up-coming creators approach Spotify because Spotify is one of the best ways to get your music heard.
So, your point is: There is no need to request a song here since Spotify will not have contact with record labels?
And your advice is: go approach a record label an request that they contact spotify?
Hey @pietergerritse.
Peter from the Community Mod team here 🙂
Just wanted to jump in here and follow up on what @mosohodPeti has said, as well as to clarify a few things.
You're absolutely right: Spotify has and indeed does play an active role in making sure that we have all the music that's out there in our catalogue.
We're constantly working with artists and labels to ensure this. This can take some time, but our aim is to have all the world's music available on our platform.
While we can't take individual requests for songs or albums to be uploaded to Spotify, we always take into account what our listeners are saying.
In fact, we have an Ideas Exchange here in the Community where members can create ideas and vote for existing ones.
We suggest that you create an idea with your request and get others to add their vote to it so that we can see how many other people feel the same way as you.
Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions - we'll be right here.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
