[Android][Radio] Fix Radio for Indian songs

[Android][Radio] Fix Radio for Indian songs

The radio algorithm is broken for Indian songs. The autogenerated radio playlists created contain non-related tracks. Even tried to create new account, still didn't fixed the issue. I don't know why it's happening only with Indian songs. The radio is working fine with English songs. Kindly fix this asap.

Hey there @Akash_AS,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Could you give us more specific info on the issue you're experiencing with the Radio feature?

Also, we'd like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update.

On another note, would you mind sending us a screenshot of the Radio playlist? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert image option in the post editor. Make sure not to send any private info.

Additionally, could you send us the song's or playlist's URI (the one you start the Radio from)? We'll take a closer look.

We'll be on the lookout.

No, the radio has been like this from the beginning. Spotify launched in India in 2019 and from that time onwards, I'm experiencing this issue.

Radio is a great tool to discover new music and artists. I found a lot of international songs through the brilliant radio mix playlists that Spotify creates for me when I click on "go to radio." I don't even have to click on the "hide" or "dislike" button. The radio plays similar music for hours.

However, when it comes to Indian songs (Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi), the radio is still on that old algorithm. For example, if I create a radio station dedicated to 80s music, the radio playlists will consist entirely of new releases and remixes. Why would the radio play songs that have strong vocals when I start a radio station from instrumentals or movie theme music? I know radio depends on listening habits, but this happens even with newly created accounts. Hiding/skipping songs wouldn't help, if you listen to a lot of different genres.

I don't mind the radio becoming static playlists. Just give us the perfect mix of songs on the radio playlists like you do for English songs.
