Browsing album then using back arrow makes album disappear...

Plan - Premium in USA

Device - Windows 10 desktop app

Hi - I have a strange problem.  An example of this problem is outlined below.  However, before you jump to a conclusion about this, please take into account:

1. It happens when I search for any artist.

2. I can make all the albums disappear one at a time by repeating steps 4,5 and 6.

3. If I search for the same artist later, the albums are still gone.

4. If I close Spotify and reopen it, then all the albums reappear on a search but start disappearing again...

Here is what I do:

1. Click Search, type in "doobie"

2. Click on "The Doobie Brothers" (in the box but not on the play button)

3. On the Overview tab, scroll down to Albums (which are grouped together by album cover.)

4. Click on Liberte album (on the album cover but not on the play button)

5. Scroll to the bottom of the song list for the album

6. Click the "Go Back" arrow in top left

7. Poof - the Liberte album is gone.  (You can scroll down - it is not anywhere)

I hope I have an old version or something set wrong.  Anyway, please let me know if you can recreate this problem.

Thanks

Hey there @m_explorer

Welcome to the Community and thanks for the detailed description!

We followed the steps you described, but we couldn't replicate the issue.

In this case, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one. Make sure to download the app again from the Microsoft Store

If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind trying with a different internet connection to check if that makes the difference?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Thanks for the response.

Spotify chat fixed my problem.  According to the tech, it required:

1. Spotify to clear my account's cache from their end and

2. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows desktop app (which deleted my downloaded songs - not a problem for me but maybe for other people.)

Problem fixed.

(in the future, I would try an uninstall and reinstall first...)
