As in desktop it would be super useful to be able to disable podcast video - I never watch it, it keeps my screen on and consumes my battery. Anyone enough that I'm contemplating finding an alternative podcast client.

Hello @toby1kenobi!
Thanks for your reply. In the Android app, there is an option in the Now Playing view, right above the podcast title that says Switch to Audio/Video. Can you check it that shows on your app? If not, it would be useful if you can send over a screenshot of the Now Playing view.
On another note, if you're not on WiFi, you can go to Settings > Data-saving and offline > toggle on the Audio only streaming for video podcasts option. This will prevent video from playing when you're not connected to a WiFi network. Also keep in mind that when the app is running in the background, the videos won't play.
Hope this helps and keep me posted!
Hello there!
Thanks for coming to the Spotify Community. As you mentioned, it's not possible to disable video playback for podcasts on the Desktop app of Spotify at the moment.
You could minimize Spotify and use it as a background task if you don't want to see it. However, if you would like to disable video playback in podcasts on Desktop, I'd recommend checking out this article for more info on how to post your idea in the Community Ideas Exchange. That way other users and Community Moderators will be able to vote and comment on it.
Have a nice day 🙂
Sorry, I was asking about the Android app - is it possible to disable (podcast/all) video in the Android app?

Thank you, that does help! I had not spotted that tiny text previously, but that does what I want so great to know.
Thanks again,
