[Discover] Don’t promote unplayable releases.

Solved!

[Discover] Don’t promote unplayable releases.

Don’t promote unplayable releases. Don’t announce a new album that are not available in my region or not playable to me for some other reason out of my control. I was announced a new Portishead album front and center on the home screen and not a single track of the album was available to me. (I would have attached screenshots but jpeg is not supported, yet jpg is.)

Hi @antipopmonkey

Thanks for keeping in touch and for that info.

There might have been a confusion with that announcement or with that particular album and it probably was removed, therefore it doesn't show anymore. You can read more about content availability here.

Regarding your suggestion about the featured content search, we recommend taking a look at our Ideas board to see if someone else has already suggested that. If not, you can submit your own idea by following these steps, so other users can add their vote and comments to show their support.

Hey @antipopmonkey,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community and welcome!

We moved your post to the relevant Help Board where it fits better, as this sounds more like an issue.

Just to confirm, has it happened before or just with that particular album?

We'd also like to know if you're using a VPN and in which device this happened. Do you see the album in the New Releases section in any other device where you use the app?

Lastly, send us the URI of the album and the country your account is registered to so we can further look into it.

We'll be on the lookout.

Hi CarlosE!

This has happened only with this particular album as far as I can recall. I don't always care for the announcements. Now that I go looking for the announcement in the history (the bell icon at the top right on iPhone app) I can not find it, and I don't see the album in on the artist's page. It was a collaboration with other artists so it might be listed at their page but I cant remember which other artist that was. Since I can't find it I'm afraid I can't send you the URL.

Tip: It would be neat if I could search for the artist and list any and all releases which they were featured on in chronological order.

I can confirm that I was not using a VPN. The experience happened on the iPhone app. I've tried finding the album on other devices too without success (Mac desktop, Windows desktop, web browser).

I have the settings so that unplayable songs are visible but grayed out in playlists and albums. To my knowlage this setting only affects individual tracks and not entire albums, playlists or artists. But if albums, playlists or artists are hidden of course I would'nt know.

Thanks for looking in to it.
