First music uploaded to a pre-existing artist.

First music uploaded to a pre-existing artist.

I uploaded music via Songtradr but the album was posted under an artist with the same name. [Artist "Marmeladov", album "Mainline-Flatline"). Songtradr directs its users to contact Spotify to deal with this issue, but when I use the Spotify service to change it, it asks if I want to "claim" the artist. I don't know what this means, but I imagine I should not be trying to claim an already existing artist! What should I do?

Hey @nogbad-the-bad,

Thanks for reaching out!

As you've thought yourself, claiming the artist would mean saying that the already existing artist is you, which is not the issue at hand 🙂
To get an assist with this, I'd recommend reaching out to the Spotify for Artists support folks directly.
They should be able to solve this for you or at least give you the necessary guidance for you to do so yourself.

Hope this helps!
