My Question or Issue

Hi,

I am curious where the data on planet locations comes from for the horoscope today podcasts. I have checked with other sources and they seem to be incorrect each time I have checked.

For example, Virgo Today starts with "Pluto moves into Aquarius...has been in Capricorn since 2008..."

And if you google "what constellation is Pluto in?" you'll find that it has been is in Sagittarius all that time, and recently moved to Capricorn. This was verified by a program called Stellarium as well.

This leads to many additional questions for the Horoscope today podcasts.

Can anyone point me to some additional info?

Thanks!

Hello! Welcome to our community! I confess that I was curious myself and asked Stella Pitininni, a friend who is an "astrologer", to explain your doubt to me and she responded with the following: Data on the positions of planets for horoscopes and astrology are generally obtained from ephemerides, which are tables that show the positions of planets at different times. These ephemerides are calculated by astronomers and astrologers using complex mathematical models that take into account the position of the Earth and other planets in relation to the Sun.

However, it is important to note that there are differences between astrology and astronomy. While astronomy is a science that studies celestial bodies and their physical properties, astrology is a practice that seeks to interpret the movements of planets and other celestial bodies as having an influence on people's lives and the world in general.

The positions of planets may vary slightly depending on the source you consult, but there are generally no major differences between them. However, if you are looking for accurate information on planetary positions, it is always a good idea to consult several reliable sources and compare the information.

I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for the reply.

The planets being in entirely different signs is a major difference. The entire premise of all of these predictions, venus being in your X house which means this,  jupiter in your Y house meaning that, has huge difference if this data is inaccurate.

There are multiple types of astrology, Vedic, Sidereal, Tropical etc. as well as different programs to find out the locations of celestial objects.

Apparently, if you were to assume you are one sign, based on the generally accepted birth dates, those were set a long time ago, and the universe doesn't keep to that perfectly. Many people might not even be the sign they believe themselves to be, based on where the objects actually were at the time of their birth as opposed to checking some old and outdated chart.

I am still wondering where the people who produce horoscope today get their information if it would be possible to get some clarification on that.
