How can I delete/remove recently played playlists or songs from my profile?

How can I delete/remove recently played playlists or songs from my profile?

I listened to some very explicit playlists that are now showing up on my profile page. Although I don't allow others to see what I've listened to, and I've cleared the cache, the playlists are still showing up on my profile. How can I remove these from my profile?

Hey,

Thanks for reaching out.

Currently there isn't a way to remove items from your listening history. It seems however that other users also requested this to be changed and posted this and this idea. I recommend that you +VOTE them to show your support.

Keep in mind that you can use Private listening mode for tunes you don't want to influence your recommendation. You can find out more about how it works here.

Hope this shines a bit of light on the matter.

Cheers,

Thanks for replying; at least I now have a definitive answer. I voted on the ideas as you suggested. These ideas are dated May 2019 and the responses were that the ideas had "gathered the votes necessary and your feedback is now reaching the internal teams". It's over 5 years later and users still don't have this basic level of control. Is there anything else we, the users, can do to get Spotify to address this? Sadly I was not aware of Private mode until I started researching this issue. As a work-around, I started playing other playlists which have pushed the undesired ones down where you can't see them when I open Spotify. Thanks again.
