I don't understand why I have to press NEXT SONG 10 times after every new song, in order to avoid hearing the same old stuff repeatedly
Hi @lflegg
Daily mixes mostly contain music from your library with a new song here and there, so basically be mostly old stuff.
Discover weekly though should contain mostly songs you have not listen. But you should venture a little bit outside Spotify algorithms and they will become more useful in the future. Here are a couple of suggestions I tend to use:
Just listen to some new stuff and add what you like to playlists. Spotify will start to recommend better stuff eventually.
Have a nice day 🙂

Daily mixes usually contain familiar music with a bit of new songs. However, the top charts on Browse are usually a good way to see what’s trending.
Thanks, but I rarely enjoy mainstream pop / chart music.
I also am concerned by any music streaming service that centralising more spotlight where there's already one, as it drives out new and less mainstream music.
HI I can recommend for you to check out my playlist, a big part of them contain underground/unknown music

daily.bandcamp is a blog that suggest artists without algorithms unlike algorithms you can find artists with extreamly different style.
Hey,
One way that I like to find new songs is by using third party applications that recommend music. If I’m not doing that, usually I’ll search a song that I do like on Spotify itself, and I’ll allow the radio to just play, saving my favorites. That way, the songs don’t repeat, at least not for me.
Try listening to the playlists Spotify makes for you that are not Daily Mixes, such as “Discover Weekly” or “Release Radar”. Usually there are some really good songs there.
One huge way I find new music is by looking (on my PC/laptop) at what my friends are listening to, or listening to their playlists. If you don’t follow your friends on Spotify or don’t like their music taste, etc, try searching up random keywords and you’ll find other people’s playlists. I found some great new artists by doing that.
Let me know if you still need help.
We would like to suggest our site dedicated to emerging artists
