Less covers, more original songs

Spotify's recommendations seem to consist almost solely of covers, hardly originals. Is there any setting to reduce the number of covers vs. originals that appear in recommendations and radio-lists? Or is this just due to the commercial model of Spotify?

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

We understand where you're coming from and why you'd like to see this implemented in the app. We can confirm there's not such feature in the app ate the moment.

Keep in mind, though, that you can help the app improve its recommendations by hiding the tracks you don't like in a playlist. If you go to the radio of a song or artist in the desktop app, you can see this icon , and if you select it, it'll hide the song in question. You can find that same icon on the mobile device version of the app in the three-dot menu you can see next to the name of the song or in the Now Playing View at the top of the screen. Take into account that this option helps the app to not recommend you the track you hide in the future.

You can have a look in our Ideas board to see if someone else has a similar idea and vote for it. If perhaps you don't find any ideas on those lines, you can post your own idea, but keep in mind you have to follow our Ideas Exchange Guidelines. That way, your suggestion will be approved more quickly and smoothly.
