My Question or Issue

Hello guys,

I unfortunately paid for Spotify promotion to a marketing company (they seemed really legit, didn't say anything about guaranteed streams, etc.) and they put my debut single to two botted playlists. My song has started to get a massive amount of streams but I DON'T WANT THEM, because I know it will damage my Spotify algorithm. I contacted the marketing company and kindly asked them to remove my song from the playlists, but they didn't do anything. Also, Spotify doesn't have an exact tool how to report botted playlists or their owner. I mailed them and they didn't help me.

As it is my first song, I would like to start over with a new artist account and reupload the song without the botted streams from the first upload. But I found this problem: Reuploading the song with a different ISRC code will block it from reaching the store, while uploading it with the same one will keep the fake listeners. So I don't know how to solve this problem.

Should I contact my distributor (DistroKid) about this problem? Is there an option to do a new mix and new master of the song, so I might be able to upload a new version of the song without being blocked by stores? Or should I contact Spotify for Artists, explain them my problem and ask them to keep my streams on zero when I reupload the song? As a new artist, I don't know much about how ISRC codes and reuploading songs work, so I'll appreciate any advice or ideas from you how to solve this problem.

Thank you & best regards

Jiri

Hey @orkadimenza, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I'd recommend getting in touch with the Spotify for Artist's team here. They'll take a look and do their best to help.

Have a nice day!

They do not help in this matter

I have a 10 track Album. That was infected by Bots x 3 by Spotify Fiverr.com sellers with my Distributors closing it all down.

So Spotify do not re set your streams for some unknown reason & they keep what ever streams you had generated. I now removed the whole album & are re uploading with new singles. Not sure if you need new ISRC Codes or not with the new re uploads. Im trying to find this out.
