No Rory Gallagher and music keeps deleting

Solved!

No Rory Gallagher and music keeps deleting

I've been having trouble with music that I once had disappearing, music I've downloaded being deleted and now I notice my favorite artist Rory Gallagher only has a handful of songs I can listen to even though you claim to have over a hundred? Used to love Spotify but this is certainly the last time I pay for premium as it's clearly getting worse not better...

Hey @morange_22

The reason is that the artist or their music label has likely decided to remove it from Spotify.

The availability of music on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.

Spotify wants all the world's music, and they're working hard on making this happen for you. However sometimes agreements can't be reached with the artist or label or a change may happen in music ownership. Sometimes the music is only available in certain countries, while access is blocked to others. Sometimes the album or song will be unavailable temporary, and come back again later.

Had most of the albums of this fantastic musician down loaded. Now everything seems to be gone can't even retrieve it on Spotify anymore. Come on a guitar player like that should be available!!

I have the exact same problem. Rory is my very favorite musician and is problably one of the least listened to classic artists on spotify. His catalog is so broad, it covers a whole lot of live albums, compilations etc. I can understand that numerous live albums may be a problem to be all available, and manage their copyright owners or whatever..

But when I'm paying for premium I would think that at least the studio albums, owned by some big copyright company, could be available. Spotify should really pay attention to keep some lesser known artists on their streaming service, there really are a lot of people who like to have all their most liked artists all in one service.

I hope Rory's stuff will be back soon.

If spotify pays Rory Gallagher albums stay, I want those albums back or I will go apple music

Porque ha desaparecido la discografía de uno de mis mejores roqueros Rory Gallagher y pago premium

Vuelve....Por Dios

Oh, this is ridiculous, now there's only the Beat Club Sessions and Live at Montreux left.. I mean, for god's sake, I'm listening in Ireland. In Cork. Where Rory LIVED, and somewhow the record labels can't see fit to have his music available and licensed here at least? The poor guy is dead, let people enjoy his music at least! Jeez..

Surely his record label is big enough to come to some sort of agreement with Spotify. Rory was not just one of the greatest Irish musicians of all time, but one of the greatest musicians of all time. If there's some sort of list of demand for availability on Spotify, he certainly deserves attention on it.

It was bad enough when his studio stuff was only available on his greatest hits albums, but this makes me sad.

Totally agree, such an overlooked artist with an amazing studio AND live catalogue. It's ridicoulus how this man is more widely known in the music community. Please bring back his music to Spotify!

"not more widely known"

Just went to have a looksee through his discography inc albums i had downloaded. No longer there. Just the 2 live albums. I cant always put on the vinyl so when i need it digitally, i can listen on youtube. Not as convenient but at least the albums are there 😕

I need to listen to Rory Gallager's music...

I was devastated when they removed him and hoped it would only be a temporary thing but it's been so long now I'm losing hope of his discog coming back.

It's crazy that they can let it be removed

I bought all of Rory Gallagher's Albums which were issued on Vinyl, and then those on CD, plus on CD re released vinyl albums and now I can't listen on Spotify! Massively annoying. I'm not going to buy them again on MP3. It means I can't intoduce younger people to his music. Bad decision to take it off Spotify. Greed presumably.

I will be cancelling my subscription to Spotify immediately. And I encourage all Rory fans to do the same.

Nasty surprise to find all those wonderful Rory Gallagher albums I'd saved to my music had disappeared. I'm bereft. What will disappear next when I'm in the mood for an old favourite? People seem to be saying Spotify is getting worse not better. This was my first big disappointment. Many more though, and I'll be looking for an alternative source of great music.

This is such a shame. I happened upon this disaster just now. Can't believe it!. And its marked "Solved"!!!!. Its not!. As to the "explanation". I'm sure that there are two parties in this argument so Spotify's "solution" is not a solution. So the rights owners wanted it removed from Spotify?... Really?... why would they want that?. What probably happened is they wanted more money for it... and if the ask was reasonable it should have been met. And lets face it these days there's a lot of analytics data around to give a good measure of value in such things, so its a bit difficult to accept that this couldn't be worked out in a sensible way. Honesty and transparency would be appreciated by the user commmunity. Even publishing a list of what music is under review on a monthly basis would add significant credibility, and some narrative about the nature of the issue. I'm going off now to see if the rest of the music I have in playlists still exists... I wonder when that will disappear too?.

This is no solution. This is just not funny. Get his songs back soon please.

Maybe you want me to try apple music.

I'm just another person missing desperately his discography - but it didn't happened only to him, found out this came to pass with other artists and hey, Spotify, I absolutely know it won't change anything and quite probably none of you guys will even read my comment but it's been a week since I was having an argument with a friend who's into POSSESSING real vinyls and CDs, a hater of the digital era in music, and me be like "what is my life without Spotify?". Ok, I won't resign - by now - but between this and not having King Crimson or Johnny Rivers YET (for Christ sake, **bleep**??? Johnny Rivers, man!!! Eight years have passed since I'm subscribed to Spotify service and still no Johnny Rivers, crazy, senseless!!! Man has got massive hits!!!). Anyway, at least I made my statement...
