Playlist purged, replacements lacking

I've been following in RetroWave Outrun playlist for a while, great list, but I found this week all the old songs were removed (there were probably two dozen songs) and replaced with only six, and those six are not in keeping with the old genre.

1. Does this happen often to Spotify playlists?

2. If a playlist needs to be updated/refreshed, why not just add new songs, and keep the old ones?

3. How can I save a snapshot of a playlist, so if the list changes, I can still find all old ones?

4. How can I find the songs from the RetroWave Outrun playlist from five days ago?
