I don’t understand the formatting of the help center. I wanted to request an idea but saw others had already requested it, however we’re referred to a post from 2020. according to the guidelines it’s impossible for this case to reopen due to it being from 2020? so why send people there? it’s just stopping requests from being taken seriously it’s silly.

Nice to hear from you.

The plan was prevent users from creating duplicate ideas,so if your idea exists, you can simply vote for it instead.

Even if it was posted in 2020, it still could be opened again, once it reaches the required number of votes(usually 50) within a specific timeframe.

So don't lose hope on it just yet, you could try and rally support for the idea in social media platforms.
