My Question or Issue
I've seen a previous post about this, but that user seemed ignored, so I'm going to ask about the same thing. Why the **bleep** would Spotify drop random Hindi music in an otherwise, very nice and familiar romantic mix? The mix itself has only songs which I already listened to/am familiar with, until this s*** came along. And I disabled a bunch of songs already before. Please stop this!!!
Thanks!
Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.
Your mixes should consist of recommendations chosen just for you, based on your listening activity and saved songs from 'Your Library' and playlists.
The more songs saved in Your Library and playlists, the more personal recommendations you'll get in your 'Made For You' section. For personalized playlists such as Daily Mix and Discover Weekly, you can improve the suggestions by liking and disliking songs. Keep in mind that these playlists update automatically based on your listening activity.
There is also a feature called "Exclude from Taste Profile" and it's now available on all platforms. There's more info about the topic in our Steps by Stars article. We'd suggest that you give it a try and you shouldn't be receiving irrelevant recommendations in the future.
While there's currently no way to manually reset your recommendations, we'd suggest you add your vote to this idea, if this is something you'd like to see implemented in the future. Please note that even if an idea is currently set to “Not Right Now” you can still support it as we revisit those ideas on regular intervals!
If you're interested in how ideas work and how your feedback reaches the right teams here, check this page out.
Lastly, if you think someone’s gained access to your account and that's why you're getting this songs - head here and see what steps you'd need to take.
Hope you'll find this useful. Take care 🙂
This is an issue I am also currently facing. It is really annoying and frustrating having to keep the songs consistently as more than half of my romantic music mix has been flooded by Hindi music and others which I have never listened to before. I totally can empathise. I hope that they can soon make a manual reset taste button.
Same here! Random Indian music in all the niche playlists Spotify creates for me, sometimes five Bollywood-like songs in a row, which I have never liked or listened to. It has been going on for months although I have removed or skipped them every time, I am slowly going insane
I have the same problem. For the last 3 week there are indian songs every (weekly discovery, decades mixes, mood mixes). In the first week I logged out everywhere and reset my password but they are still everywhere. I keep blocking them frkm playlist and excluding them from the tast thing. Its so flipping annoying and doesn't makes sense. Makes me stopp wanting to use Spotify tbh.
I am finally free of random Hindi music. Low key I think that it's because I just stick to my heavy metal stuff. Jk, I guess it also helped that I kept blocking everything Hindi related left and right, till nothing popped up anymore. I actually forgot about this problem till I got an email that someone liked my post (lol).
