Songs on Spotify not available on Instagram

Hello! Two questions: 1) If a listener knows an album is published on Spotify, are there reasons why a listener cannot pull those songs from that album to be featured on Instagram’s stories? 2) If an album was released in May 2019, how long does a listener need to wait before those songs available on Instagram? Thanks!!

HI! Thanks for your question! In order for songs to be available on Instagram stories, they need to first be put thru the right distributors. Some Distributors (CD Baby, Distrokid etc.) allow options for Facebook monetization (which is what allows your music to be shared on Instagram stories and Facebook Stories). Not all distributors have this option though which is why that particular album you're searching for is not available. Songs are typically available on Instagram stories on their release dates. When using CD Baby to release music, its usually an option you checkmark to allow this feature. I would research which distributors have this option and try to see if the ones used for the album youre looking for had this.

Can this be done also after the song has been updated? For example checking the box for Facebook and Instagram after the delay? How long would it take for the change to be active?
