Spam in Release Radar

Spam in Release Radar

Recently I've noticed tracks that are accredited to multiple artists that I follow appearing in my Discover Weekly and Release Radar playlists.

These tracks are not by any of the artists listed, I believe this is some kind of spam that is used to get people to listen to these tracks.

Is Spotify not able to identify and block these from appearing in discovery lists? I'm getting tired of having to constantly remove these spam tracks.

Here's an example of one that appeared in my Release Radar this morning.

Same here. I've noticed it's usually indie bands that are on the artist list but it's obviously not their song. Also those spammy songs don't appear on the artist page.

How about only adding to Discover Weekly/Release Radar songs that are verified by the artists?

@CarlosE it's not easy to report all these songs. There are dozens. Some crappy artists are clearly trying to take advantage of Spotify and spam the platform. Spotify needs to remove recommendations to songs that tagged an artist but the songs were not added/approved by the artists themselves. Half my Release Radar is full of this spam which really degrades my experience.

Replying to this thread as a +1. I have this issue every single week in my release radar. Please implement some sort of verification for releases that get pushed to the flagship "Made for You" playlists!

This one was my number 1 song on Release Radar this week:
