My Question or Issue
What happened to the bell icon for new releases? I love keeping up with new releases from artists that I listen to, and now the bell icon is gone after a recent update and I don’t know how to find new releases from the artists that I follow.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hey folks,
Thanks for all your replies.
Currently, you can find the What's New, Listening history and Settings and privacy icons in the upper-left panel of your screen:
To find them, you just need to click your profile picture icon on the top left:
You can find your Music and Podcast & Shows feeds at your Home screen:
If you're having difficulties finding these options, please let us know.
Feel free to share with us here, constructively, your feedback and comments in the matter. Your feedback is very important to us, because it helps us make future decisions. We know you want to make the best out of your listening experience.
Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
Hey @derekf88 thanks for the screenshot. You can try clicking the profile picture icon on the top left near the ALL filter. That should open the new side panel with an option to open What's New section.
Keep us posted.
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. You can still find the history as shown here. What do you see on your end? If you still can't find it, send us some screenshots so we can have a look.
Hope this helps.
History feature/icon in top right suddenly missing in iPhone app - why????
Hey @maxartist23,
Thanks for your post.
We've tried reproducing this on an iOS device and the history icon is present. We'd suggest logging out and then logging back in two times in a row on your phone. It sounds a bit odd, but it forces a sync between the account and your device.
If the issue persists, check for a pending update for your Spotify App and for a software update on your device. Make sure that you have the latest version of Spotify and iOS installed on your phone as updating usually fixes errors that occur temporary.
Hope this helps. Take care 🙂
I'm having the same problem. My history button on top right just disappears. I need to clean out the app data from settings and then login again for it to reappear again. But then this happens couple times a day. What is the solution. (I also uninstalled/reinstalled, which has the effect. I see the history button first, it's there for several hours and then disappears again.)
The button changed location. It is undocumented behaviour. Now it is in
Home -> user profile picture -> Listening History.
Please update the documentation. The button is under user profile picture
It is there, but the functionality is different - the history starts yesterday's items and goes back in time from there. It does not include what I've played today. I want to go back just a few songs or podcasts, and can't rely on short term memory. Is there a way to today's history moment to moment like the history button used to do?

My Question or Issue
Last week the settings button with the gear symbol on the home screen has suddenly disappeared and is replaced with a lightning symbol for the newest releases.
I need to enable volume normalisation but with the settings button nonexistent it's impossible to do so. Honestly baffled how such an essential part of the app just gets removed like this.
How do I get access the settings now? I have already tried restarting the app.
Hi Joan.
That only shows the songs I >clicked< to play not the ones that was actually played such as recommended or whatever. It sucks that I no longer can find that great song I just heard because "History" only lists the song I clicked to get started 4 hours ago....
My bell icon is missing with the new update! I do not understand where to find all the new songs from the artist i follow.
Need help!!
I cannot access my settings. My playback was set to my mobile phone, in which I try to access the settings.
I have tried force stopping the app and restarting the phone, however, I still have no access to the settings.
How can I fix that issue?
Hey @Yuradex,
Thanks for reaching out. We've moved your post to the Help board as it better fits here.
Can you send us a few screenshots of how things look on your end so we can investigate further? Also, have you tried any troubleshooting like reinstalling the app?
Keep us posted.
Hello,
Here is a screenshot, I haven't tried to install yet, as I wanted to reach out first and see if there is a y solution that would be more convenient.
Hey @Yuradex,
Thanks for getting back to us.
You can open your settings, listening history and notifications by tapping on your profile (the blue circle with a Y in it).
We hope this helps.
Hi there @derekf88,
Thanks for the post.
Can you send us a screenshot of what your app looks like and let us know what version of the Spotify app you're running? We'll investigate this matter further.
Cheers.
Hi Alex, my spotify version is 8.8.64, and here is a screenshot of what my app looks like.

Hi there @derekf88,
In this case, we suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app. This will make sure there are no old cache files causing this. You won't lose any content, you'll just need to download your offline music again.
If that doesn't do the trick, can you log in on a different device to see if you can't still see the What's New feed from there?
Let us know how that goes!
Hi @Susan_GP I tried both of these methods and I am still having the same issue.
