Spotify is still playing blocked artists (especially if they're not the primary artist)

My Question or Issue

I recently blocked Kanye West from being played on Spotify. However, I still have his songs liked in my library, including songs he is credited on as a feature or co-artist; Watch the Throne, Kids See Ghosts, some singles. I know that the obvious solution here is to remove all songs of his in my library, but I kind of expect Spotify's block feature to work effectively- if the artist is on the song, the song will not be played.

On my iPhone, I just queued a shuffle of my liked songs under the "chill" tag (IMG_5188), and the second song to be played was a song from Watch the Throne. I skipped it, but upon further inspection of the queue I also found a song from Graduation(!) and one from Kids See Ghosts (IMG_5186). I have Kanye blocked on Spotify as is seen in IMG_5187, so I am not sure why the blocked feature fails to consider artists even when they're featured or visually unlabeled (but well known as the producers of the project). This has happened to me multiple times with Watch the Throne and Kids See Ghosts when I shuffle my library in the past, but this is the first time that one of his own songs came up in the shuffle.

I would greatly appreciate if the Spotify dev team was able to fully flesh out the block feature and extend it to not just primary artist credit but also when they are a secondary artist, feature, or even producer (as Kanye is known to be for many artists).

Hey @dmjab13,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

We strive to constantly improve the user experience on our platform and hope to see the songs with a featured artist not be playable, if you've blocked the featured artist. Currently this is not the case as the feature works only for the main artist.

Hope this clears things a bit,

Cheers!

There's a musician I have zero interest in, and I have blocked them and their many pseudonyms. Despite this, in the app an ENTIRE ROW is dedicated to this artist all the same. Generated playlists will also include excluded artists, which means when it gets to the song, it stops playing entirely.

Why is this happening, and is anything being done to fix this annoying issue?

My Question or Issue

I've blocked artists individually, only for them to still play in pre-made playlists or artist "radio" stations. Sometimes the artist isn't the first name listed on the track but is a featured artist on the track. Each time I follow the artist to their page and try to re-block them, only for Spotify to show they are already blocked from my feed.  Some of the artists I've blocked are never brought back into the mix, but a couple of the more currently popular ones keep playing, so I'm baffled as to what else I can do besides immediately skipping them.

My Question or Issue

So, almost a year ago I blocked one artist because of ongoing boycott but a month ago Spotify started to play their songs even if they're blocked, reblocking helping only for a couple of hour and it plays again.

I have marked an artist on their page as "Don't play this artist". I still have this artist's music playing and particularly included in Spotify-generated playlists for me.
