Spotify - too many albums appeared!

Spotify - too many albums appeared!

Subscribed to Spotify Premium and managed to import my Apple Music collection, BUT, although all the artists are present, there are many more albums for each artist than I ever had in my library!

For example, I had about six albums by one band and now there are some twenty some of which are by tribute bands of that artist. This means that my original collection of albums has now been "polluted" by dozens more which I don't want. I can of course delete the unwanted ones, but I'm curious to know how this has happened and where did the come from?

Thanks.

Hello:

Any chance you can reveal which importing service you used to bring content to the Spotify service from Apple music? It is not uncommon for compilation releases and also cover album releases of other artists doing the original artist's work to make available releases to be added at the very bottom of artist pages. These will show up below all the standard artist catalogue releases available by that artist on their artist page.

Hi there, I used STAMP to transfer. When I sent them a message about this problem and also the fact that a message at the end of the process said some one thousand plus tracks hadn't been copied across they upgraded me to the full version including the desktop (previous just iPad) version. Deleted all Spotify media and tried again on PC with same results. Have deleted many of the albums that were added but not sure if I'll bother with the rest as I'm only using a trial of Spotify. Think I prefer Apple Music which I subscribe to.

Thanks.
