Switching Distributors: do we lose playlist positions?

Solved!

Switching Distributors: do we lose playlist positions?

If we as a band switch from a distributor to DistroKid, will we lose all our playlist positions and basically have to get on all the playlists again?

I know that the stream counts should stay there if we use identical info such as ISRC codes etc. Just wondering about playlists.

To keep the play count when re-releasing an album or single you should re-upload the new content with identical audio and metadata, for example the same audio, ISRC code, track title, artist name and song duration. It can take a day or 2 for the play counts to match. If not artist support may be able to help. Once the songs link play count it should still be available in playlists.

Hi there @Magganpice,

thanks for reaching out about this !

I would strongly recommend checking out this Spotify for Artists FAQ page for further info.

In addition, you can always reach out to Spotify for Artists support for any questions regarding your artist page.

Hope this helps 🙂
