My Question or Issue

I've noticed a few times that certain artist become completely unplayable. I'm not talking about how certain songs on certain albums get "greyed out" because the content is not available in a country, I mean the entire library from an artist just doesn't play when I press the play button. Everything is "lit up" like normal, not grey out, the play buttons are all available, but when I use the play button nothing happens - for like every album, song, or artist playlist.

Even stranger, I was literally listening to a song by an artist on a weekly release radar, yet when I go to play the song or visit the album that it's from nothing will play.

I've tried logging out, clearing the cache, all the usual suspects. I can play the songs on my spotify app on mobile, just not on desktop.

Is this a VPN issue perhaps?

Thanks in advance

Hey @AtlasOrion,

Thanks for reaching out!

It could be related to VPN, so can you try switching it off to see if you're able to play these artists? You can also check in the mobile app if the artists you can't play are blocked by going to their artist profile, clicking on the three dots and then checking if you see "Don't play this artist". If you do, then they're not blocked.

If the issue persists afterwards, it would also be great if you can share a screen recording of what happens when you try playing a song, so that we can take a closer look. If the file is too large to attach, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video.

Let us know how it goes.
