Why are some original versions of a song by its original artist unavailable

Why are some original versions of a song by its original artist unavailable

I’ve tried many times to search for different songs and the original version by the original artist is often unavailable, as in non existant on Spotify. Why is that ? What’s the process for choosing wether a song is worthy enough for being available or not ?

One possible reason for a music's unavailability on Spotify is the lack of agreement between the involved parties. For example, it can occur when the owners of the music's copyright do not grant the necessary licenses for the music to be made available on Spotify. Sometimes, these owners have specific restrictions on the distribution of their music, which can limit its availability.

In addition, some songs may only be available in certain territories, such as a specific country or region. This can occur due to geographical restrictions that the copyright owners impose on their music licenses, making the music available only in specific regions that have distribution rights in those territories.

There may also be technical issues that prevent a song's availability on Spotify, such as licensing problems or audio quality issues that do not meet the platform's guidelines.

In summary, there are several reasons why a song may not be available on Spotify, including lack of agreement between the involved parties, geographical restrictions, technical issues, and artistic or personal decisions made by the artists.
