Hey there,
Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community!
We're afraid there's no way to manually "suggest" the algorithm genres. In this case, the only thing you can do for now is to keep listening to your favorite tunes and add the ones that you like to your playlists by tapping on the 3 dots next to the song and selecting the "Add to Liked Songs" or "Add to playlist" options, and "Hide this song" if you don't like it at all.
Also, we suggest that you make sure you activate the Private Session when you're listening to something that you don't want to be taken into account by the algorithm or exclude the whole playlist from your Taste profile with these steps.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and will make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience.
Hope this helps. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.

My Question or Issue
Hi everyone, in the past few weeks my Discover Weekly has been increasingly filled with groups/artists I've never heard of and very recent. Now, I like to discover some new artists, but as long as they are 5/10 it's fine, but not when they are like 27/30. To be broad, I will have met 5 of these artists. For me the Discover Weekly is not just discovering new artists, but also pieces of more or less famous artists that I have never heard or that I listened to years and years ago, which for better or worse always worked until the past few weeks. So honestly it doesn't really have anything to do with anything. I hope you can do something. My account is this and this is my DW (you can see for yourself that it is almost all unknown people). Please solve, I stay with Spotify for the DW...

Thanks for the reply, but for me the problem is not that the artists or genres aren't ok, it's the fact that i'ts almost all new stuff by literally unknown bands, which i like to have, but they must be at most 10 of 30 songs, the other should be other artists, less or more famous but not totally uknown... Hope you can give me an help
Hey there @nighthawk989,
Thanks for joining the conversation!
It's currently not possible to manually change the kind of artists/bands you get on your Discover Weekly. We'd suggest taking into account @Eni's suggestions above in order to let the algorithm know what you like and what you don't, as this might help with recommendations in the future.
You can also have a look in our Idea Exchange to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion. If there isn't one, you can submit your own idea so that other users can also support it. The higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented.
The Community will be here if anything else comes up.
Cheers!
Hi Nighthawk,
Just wanted to say you are not the only one where this is happening. I listen to a lot of types of music, also some by pretty obscure artists, so I don't mind getting recommended relatively unknown bands.
However, my discover weekly is now filled with artists I have never heard of. Often with < 10.000 monthly listeners. As you say, a mix of "deep cuts" of artists I already listen to and new (to me) artists would be preferable. Now it's more like 95% new.
It seems like the algorithm has changed, and in my case not for the better.
Hey dude, thanks for your reply!
Looks exactly the same problem that i am experiencing. I listen to a lot of classic rock, hard rock and many genres of heavy metal, and also to a lot of other genres, but rarely to really unknown bands, so i really don't get why in my Discover Weekly i got something like 24 never listened artits (and like you said almost all of them have very few listeners and also almost all the releases are so recent, like something you'll find in the Release Radar). While i like to discover new bands, i like that the number stays between, uh, i guess 5 to 10, no more... Hope that they would do something, but in the last weeks i noticed that problem going much worse, and that week i added just 4 songs to my playlist, probably the fewest number since 2018, when i began using Discover Weekly constantly... it's a shame, cause i honestly use Spotify a lot for that feature, hope it will be fixed, otherwise i will be forced to go to another service
The same this week (TBH slightly better, you see Slash, Rhapsody, Sebastian Bach, Grand Magus, Night Flight Orchestra and other more interesting bands, but the rest was again almost all unknown bands and too much recent albums. If the problem will not be solved, i will end my subscription for good.
Also this week the selection is not good, somehow better but too. I'm starting to block artist totally unkown/that have nothing to do with hard rock/heavy metal... somehow better, also another thing i don't understand is why every two weeks i got Avantasia (it's anyway a pleasant band in confront to the unkown bands)... Can you please fix this, returning the new and totally unknown artists to a low number? Shouldn't be too hard! Please correct it, otherwise i'll be forced to drop my subscription!
