how long does it take to determine your favorite artist?

I got a new phone two weeks ago and I downloaded spotify. I've been listening a lot, but I was wondering how long does it take for Spotify to have a favorite artist section?

There really isn't a set timeframe for something like this, but as soon as you start using your account and listening to things, what you play will inform the algorithm's recommendations. If you listen to a specific artist a lot, they should start appearing in recommended albums and generated playlists almost right away. As you play a variety of artists, the Favourite artists section will also get populated by them and similar ones.
