how to find song w VERY limited info: possibly genre, gender & year

Heard a song back in 2008 in a retail store in MN.  Asked clerk what was playing, she blew me off.  Called back and asked mgr, who also was of no help.  Song has been stuck in my head EVER since.

Listened to countless hours of Pandora and Spotify trying desperately to find the song, to no avail.  But have possibly determined it was in the salsa genre?!  It's one of those 'I'd know it when I hear it'.  I heard it in 2008, so it can't be any newer than 7 yrs old; 2008 or earlier.  And the main vocal was female w a sweet, clear tone, she did have backup male vocals as well?

After exhaustive listening & searching Spotify, I can rule out what it is not:  not electronic; not overtly ethnic-sounding -- no offense, but no 'arribas' or 'ole, ole's'; not rock n roll; not merengue ...

It had a nice upbeat, sunny, soaring (?) vibe.  The kind of vibe I like to listen to while driving with the windows down.

So is there a way to narrow searches down?  I'll do the listening, but I just don't know how to improve my efficiency.
