Cannot select songs on Spotify Ubuntu app

First and foremost, I have Spotify's app installed as a snap. Now for the issue, whenever I'm connected to my university's network, I become unable to choose songs through the app. They do play. I am able to search for a specific song as well, but they are greyed out. If I use the website, the problem disappears. If I change networks, then I'm able to reuse the app as normal.

It is pretty obvious to me that the problem might have to be solved by asking why this happens to the network's admin, but as I have not been able to replicate this problem through the web player or in Windows, I'm curious on what causes the Ubuntu version of the app to behave like this.
